Kashmir Debate

           Do you think Kashmir should be an independent country or should Pakistan or India should control the country? I think Kashmir should be independent because they are getting involved in wars they shouldn’t have to be involved in. Kashmir also didn’t get a vote on whether Kashmir should be independent or be a part of Pakistan or India! A lot of these people in Kashmir are also kids who are trying to go school, have a good career in life, ect. 

First of all, Kashmir people have been getting involved in too many wars that they shouldn’t have to be a part of. An example is that 91% of the Kashmir’s population wants to be an independent country, and not be controlled by three different countries. In addition The Kashmir people have to go to war to fight for their independence of the whole or part of Kashmir, yet they haven’t gotten any independence from part or whole of the country yet. Kashmir has had harsh violence because over the time period of 70 years because India and Pakistan are fighting for the land and water. Although Kashmir might have great water sources that doesn’t mean that Kashmir should have to get involved in wars because India, and Pakistan want the great water sources. 


In my opinion I think that the people of Kashmir should have had the right to decide whether or not they wanted to be an independent country. For instance, if they didn’t start all the wars, had the people of Kashmir vote for what they wanted India and Pakistan would have never had a war, and they wouldn’t have lied about what part of Kashmir they claimed. The past 72 years of war was because they wanted land and water, yet India and Pakistan were so desperate that they lied about part of the area they claimed. In the end they are still fighting over it when they should’ve just had Kashmir vote.

In conclusion, kids shouldn’t have to witness war over a country because people want land, and the good water sources. I am also not just mentioning the kids in Kashmir because the kids in India, and Pakistan are also having to witness war. Some of these are going to grow up and probably be scared of talking about the topic wars because of what they witnessed. In the end Kashmir shouldn’t have to be going through blood, tears, deaths, violence and wars.

Rebecca Lee Crumpler, an Unsung Hero

               Rebecca Lee Crumpler accomplished being the first African American to write a book about medical discourses, and being the first African American to graduate medical school. Now you might be wondering who in the world is Rebecca Lee Crumpler? Well Rebecca Lee Crumpler is an unsung hero that you probably don’t know about.
